About the Artist
I was raised on the West Side of St. Paul, Minnesota as an American kid growing up in a Mexican household. Through my work I have tried to represent my Mexican roots with honor and pride. The work of Jean-Michel Basquiat shifted my world, inspired me and motivated me to start on this path. My artwork moves between multiple worlds: past and present, representational and abstract expressionism, modern and folkloric art, my mexican heritage and american lifestyle. All without limiting labels. All without rules of color. Except brilliance and vibrancy.
