About the Art
I have always loved dragons ever since I was about 7 years old. I have been drawing them for about as long too. I love to imagine them still in caves and in wide open forests flying freely. When I first drew this art piece free hand, before starting it digitally, I thought it could represent resilience and power while being original and fun. So I drew what I call “The Nuxalk Dragon”. It is resilient because of the fire it holds in its belly and is powerful because of how generous and thoughtful it is. Every morning the dragon wakes up with a belly full of fire. He belches a giant fireball into the sky to get rid of it creating the sun and when the sun sets it burns out turning into night time.
