About the Artist
Zaka’an was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest (Tacoma and Seattle). She expresses herself through various artistic mediums, and has done so ever since she was a young child. She has grandmothers from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, México and from the White Earth Ojibwe Reservation in northeastern Minnesota. She hopes to inspire others to embrace their stories about who they are and where they come from.
