Little Bead Library
About the Project
We are excited to announce the opening of our Little Bead Library, a fantastic initiative conceptualized by Cynthia Masterson (Comanche), @littlebeadlibrary. Located at the front of the yəhaw̓ house at 9674 51st Ave S, this community resource invites everyone—whether you’re an experienced beader or a curious beginner—to participate in the art of beading.
Beading has been practiced by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years as a way to record and translate cultural knowledge, tell stories, connect, and heal. Beading circles serve as spaces to connect with one another and with the land, sharing stories and learning about each other. We hope this little bead library will open the door to beading for more people.
At our Little Bead Library, you can:
🔵Drop Off Supplies: Bring in any beading materials you no longer use, such as beads, strings, and tools.
🔵Pick Up Free Kits or Supplies: Browse the selection left by fellow community members and find kits or materials.
