Curious about photo collage but unsure where to begin? This workshop invites you to explore collage through a cultural and ecological lens. Guided by artist Epiphany Couch, participants will draw inspiration from the patterns of Salish weaving, quilting, and Pacific Northwest basketry.
We'll begin by photographing natural textures and forms found on the yəhaw̓ land, learning what to look for when gathering visual material for collage. After a lunch break, we’ll return to transform our images into personal, place-based collages in a supportive group setting. This hands-on workshop offers a meaningful way to connect with the land, honor cultural traditions, and create something beautiful together.
Participants should bring: A smartphone or digital camera for taking photos (If you do not have access to a device with a camera, let us know. We have a few digital cameras available)
Lunch and other supplies will be provided.
